It was very windy today at the sea, and with bright sun that was so low photography was difficult. The tide was out on the estuary and with hardly anyone around the dogs ran their little legs off. Over on the main beach there were loads of people and it was possible to walk around Orcombe Point. Water was streaming down the cliff and there were fresh landslides caused by the torrential rain we’ve had for weeks now.
It was a lovely walk , great for blowing away the cobwebs and burning some of the thousands of excess Christmas calories!
How brave of you to go out in the wind to take photos just for us, Gilly.:) Love that anchor chain in the sand.
I went to the beach on Christmas day [after a storm] and forgot the memory card for the camera…not a good moment at all. So thanks for these Gilly.
These photos are beautiful, especially for a day when “photography is difficult!” I adore that seashell and the anchor chain in the sand…. 🙂
Love the images, Gilly. Thanks for taking me with you!
the bright low sunlight was just right for showing up the tide patterns, illuminating the buoys, and that catamaran on the and … brilliant work!!!
These are all so great! We went to the beach for a few hours Christmas day and I only took one decent pic due to similar crap light! Yours came out great! Anchor chains are always so interesting aren’t they? I always wonder how old they are and what happened!
We had planned a trip to the coast but somehow the miserable weather & tiredness put us off. Seeing these photos I wish we had gone now!
I should join you, I need to burn some calories as well! Lovely photos
I couldn’t possibly pick one photo, Gilly. I love them all. It looks like it was very peaceful to be there. On those windy days, many people shy away from the outdoors. Your bravado landed you some fabulous photo’s. I must say “Bouyed” keeps calling for another view. It would looked great framed.
Very nice ….

Gilly … a spectacular gallery! Happy New Year
I feel the need of a blow by the sea. I wonder if I can manage to go soon. How does it go again? ‘I must go down to the seas again…..’ I don’t need a ship, or a star to steer me by, but I do love to be beside the seaside. My shots won’t be as dramatic as your lovely ones, though…. 🙂
Amazing! Especially considering the light was bad! That orange ball is my favourite.
Chained for the win!!! Beats all my Zilch pics.
