Gilly, this is such a lovely poem. And a soothing picture. I love the way the hills “undulate” in so many places in England. Some day maybe I’ll get there to see for myself. Until then I always appreciate great pictures like yours.
I like the paradox of ‘silent with birdsong’. And I like the alien landscape. The photo is a beauty, and I thinks I understand ‘landscapes of the heart’. I,ve been revisiting Broken Hill in my mind, and it’s definitely a landscape of my heart. In your haiku, every word counts and resonates.

Sandra ‘s comment sums up my thoughts so eloquently.
So lovely, Gilly. Makes me want to go a-rambling across those moors. 🙂
Oh, what a beautiful haiku, Gilly! 🙂
Undulating is such a lovely description. I can’t help seeing and feeling motion till the last word. A lovely splash of color with words. ❤
Your work is great. I could feel the breeze. Hugs, Barbara

Proofread, Meg! Try “I think” and “I’ve”. Why does one only notice these things on publication??

Ahh but I know that you can write better words for the picture 🙂
Perfect summation! No more words required. Lovely x
Lovely Gilly. Makes me wish I was there.
It’s lovely to see you, you haven’t been in my reader for ages!
Thanks. I’ve been lurking and doing other things – catching up on things at home mostly.
Perfection Gilly!!! One of your best.
