I said that the five day challenge would take me longer to complete and sure enough here I am with day three, several days later. Issy at http://isadoraartandphotography.com/2015/02/15/5-day-bw-challenge-day-2/ picked me and I’m going to choose Rommel today (only if you want to Rommel!) http://thesophomoreslump2.com/ My photo shows the Citta Alta in Bergamo, northern Italy, from my hotel room. The Upper City is surrounded by Venetian walls built in the 16th century. It has several piazzas, palazzos, including one built in the 12th century, and numerous churches. Bergamo is an elegant city, 25 miles from Milan and well worth a visit – the budget airlines fly there from the UK!
Great picture! Those old Italian cities are beautiful!
Wow! This is an amazing image, Gilly. So much to look at. 🙂
Oh thank you I nearly didn’t post it because I thought it was a bit boring!
No way!!
Gorgeous shot. I love all that old architecture. Sigh.
Translates well into B&W – lots of levels and lots of layers and contrast. Love the focus on the clock in the foreground. Nice one Gilly.
Amazing photography Gilly , love it
A feast for the eyes, Gilly. This would look great framed. I find images with many things going on attract the viewer to pause and really look at it. The historic building lends itself to a perfect B & W. 👍
I’m really pleased you decided to take on the challenge. 😍
I would love to go there and explore and photograph all those interesting buildings.
This is a city that I nearly visited once, but didn’t make it. Darn! That’s a beauty of a shot, Gilly. I’m imagining in a little gentle colour 🙂
B&W is beautiful for this view – everything so sharp and clear. And no worries about a pallid sky. You do a good sales pitch for bergamot too.
