I’ve just realised that I walk past this wooden bench every day and that it fits Jude’s March challenge for her bench series.

“Courage is what it takes to stand up and speak; courage is also what it takes to sit down and listen.”
– Winston Churchill
This is very appropriate in my world today!
Wow! That is one huge bench, Gilly. I always enjoy Churchill’s wisdom. 🙂
I enjoy Winston Churchill quotes. This one is awesome.
What a bench! How unusual is this bench? Is this all Mother’s Nature’s art?
It’s a very good way of extending the life of an old tree!
Indeed, it is. So, you’ve answered my question. Mother Nature at work again. ❤
I meant to add: And re-purposed by humans.
I guess that is a bench for many. Wonderful.
“The things we pass by every day.” It’s a good basis for meditating on an attentive life. Is the bench comfortable? Does anyone sit on it? Is it ever full?
It’s usually full because its by a bus stop outside of the hospital!
This is one miraculous bench, though it looks a little as though it might wrap itself around you if you sat there too long.

Interesting thought Tish, especially as it’s outside of the hospital!
Perhaps better not pursued then. I came over all Gothic 🙂
Now THAT’s what I call a bench! Great entry Gilly 😀
Super. Both the bench and the quote.
A great bench, Gilly. It looks like it could seat an army. 🙂
Great quote and bench!
I wonder if the bench was carved from one piece of wood. It’s a wonderful sculptural art piece. I hope it’s in a location where it gets a great deal of viewing. A museum, perhaps? Great entry, Gilly.
The quote is exceptional too. Too many talker – not enough listeners. Well done …!!! 😀
Yes it’s definitely one big tree trunk. It gets a lot of sitters because it’s outside the hospital main entrance!
More like a couch to me. 😀 I could bring cushions. 😀
Now that’s a bench! And great quote to go with 🙂
That must have been one magnificent tree Gilly! Love the quote.
