These are outstanding tiles? panels? What do you call them and what are they for? The fine details are so amazing I expect the faces to move. ๐ Reply
It’s on a plinth in a park in Exmouth and it’s the five faces of their town crier back in the 1990’s, hence the bell in the top corner. Town criers seem to be quite rare these days! Thanks Tess ๐ Reply
This is extremely interesting. Town criers rare these days? You mean there are still some in this day and age? ๐ฎ
I stopped and chatted to a town crier in Doncaster on one visit. He was quite a character. His name was Henry Cryer. How good is that. ? ๐ https://hallysann.wordpress.com/2011/05/09/doncaster-town-crier/ Reply
What jolly looking fellows! I think Town Criers would need a big megaphone these days, with all the traffic noise. ๐ Reply
…hear ye, hear ye, hear ye. We still have them in Shropshire! And apparently there is a British Town Criersโ Championship. Great shot Gilly ๐ Reply
