This is a challenge created to find beauty in almost everything. The challenge is simple : find beauty in everyday mundane things, capture the beauty and upload the photographs.
This rusty old thing may not be everyone’s cup of tea, but I wonder about the workmanship, it must have been lovingly crafted and beautiful in it’s day.
Craftsmanship always gives pleasure. There’s an old railway bridge we’ve visited a few times as we cruise around NSW which was built by local tradesmen a long time ago when government money ran out, and it too was a thing of beauty. Can’t always say this about the work of tradesmen today. Decay in the form of rust is always beautiful too.
Every Monday I resist “mundane”!
striking image! It is layered with history, workmanship, and a feeling of strength and days gone by. and your photo of it is a nice composition – the strong vertical to the right and the richness to the left – with the center “bald thing” – so what you chose to not crop was very well done (to me at least) 🙂
In B&W it appears it will last the test of time –forever. 😀 Interesting subject, though I have no clue what it is.
Is it a pick – axe?
You’ve got the knack for this, sweetheart 🙂
Wonderful image, Gilly. That pick-axe head looks quite rugged in its rusty state. 🙂
A rusty propeller, i suppose. Good catch Gilly 🙂
The angle made a big difference.. Beautiful!
