Confusion is the Child of Assumption

I don’t usually say this but for once if anyone has any feedback I would really appreciate it 😉

Confusion is the child of assumption

Stalk me and question

Ask if I have no shame

Is there nothing sacred

Nothing to be withheld

In this virtual world

Ask if I have no shame

When I share and bare my spirit

I have none I am raw

I have no need to conceal

I am more than half way healed

Ask if I have no shame

And then project your own

Ignore the tribute made

Do I have to shout it loud

To save the virtual stalk

No shame in fact I’m proud

For navigating a wonky journey

So often on my own

Fulfilling a role too early

But now well prepared and grown

Save your stalking energy

For shame unbinding threads

That never served you honestly

Just blanked it from your head

Where still it festers now

  1. Let me start with, “Ask if I have no shame

When I share and bare my spirit.” I think its an act of courage, of bravery to bare one’s soul, to express a part of ourselves that most won’t dare venture. Yes, it may by shameless for others, but for me its being honest, true and sincere. If we are comfortable in baring our heart’s cry and the tears of our spirit, then we are confident in our very skin. People tend to criticize but we know better that they can only dream of what we already bared. To be able to open up to the world and speak the truth is hard thus only a few chose to do it. Amazing poetry with deep thoughts to reflect on. Thanks.

  2. Well, I too liked this poem, it projects a sense of loneliness and dauntlessness courage in the face of criticism and fearlessness in the face of unvoiced threats.
I was going to nominate you for the Liebster Blog Award, but I just noticed you already have one. Someone else beat me to it. Good on ya!

  3. lovely photos and such an inspiring poem~
“No shame in fact I’m proud……So often on my own……But now well prepared and grown”
    Good post!

  4. hi gilly, i have had to think about this poem in several sessions, especially since you asked for feedback ….i am with you 100% until the last verse, and then i am not sure exactly what you are saying … the honesty of baring your soul then someone who is on their own journey projects shame onto you (which is their stuff, but nevertheless uncomfortable to have them think it is yours!)…and stalking ..is that about this someone keeping up an unwelcome contact and not hearing what you are really saying? I love the image of stuff festering in the head, the shadow stuff, it has to be brought back to life, enough festering! Not sure if this is helpful, just delete if i am way off mark… but i am still curious about the stalking … overall strong riveting poetry 🙂 christine

  5. I love this poem and the message that you are trying to convey. I don’t see anything wrong in posting what I believe in, what I love doing. My guiding principle is that for as long as I do not do anything contrary to law, morals, customs and public standards, then what I post should be ok.

  6. In this anything goes world, and especially the “Virtualife”, the true shame is that all too often, honest heart felt moral standards, and values, are what are looked on by the world as being twisted. So, I understand, I think, where you are coming from. Any admission to submitting ones shortcomings, and regrets to God, in the worlds eye view is a sign of weakness. And, thank God, in a way they are right. Just not in the way they think. As Paul said: “In my weakness He is strong through me” ☺ (Paraphrased of course).

While surfing numerous participating sites of the wordpress weekly Photo Challenge: “Regret”, I was amazed how many people claim to have no regrets for anything in their lives, past, present, and apparently future. Seems to me for one to have no regrets at an adult stage in their life for any decisions they have ever made…They are either God, or, Dead.

I Love your style of poetic prose here…Beautiful words, and although they can apply in many arena, and address many different situations…They certainly speak volumes to me in the area of speaking the truth in love, and posting whom I believe to be my creator.
    God Bless You

I would love to hear from you . . .
