My question is, at what point does it become my design and not the original artists? Maybe never? What do you think?
The original photo, from a frieze on a wall in a museum in Ankara
Not very exciting but I changed it into this to make a card for a friend, better maybe?
and then for today’s theme, I really began to play 🙂
My favourite – today at least!

Love it!! I wish I knew how to do these kinds of things… 🙂
Honestly if it was difficult I wouldn’t be able to!
Oh Gilly you are getting very creative these days…and much more daring. Loved thse. WOW Well done !
Thanks honey, I used to do quite a lot of photo editing before the Open University took over my life!
as Open Universities do !!!
nearly new …
Oowedo Gilly! Nice.
I love these designs! And, I’ve nominated you for the Very Inspiring Blogger Award. I invite you to participate only if you would like to. The info on the award is here: http://lovinglifeagreenjourney.wordpress.com/2012/03/11/very-inspiring-blogger-award/
Ok–I think it’s all yours. First it’s the angle you’re viewing it from. Take the picture, we’re seeing it the way you want us to. Then, you add color, dimension, etc. So much fun!
You are so creative Gilly beautiful designs 🙂
My, my, Gilly, aren’t we just playful? I love what you’ve done with the ‘original’ design that you based your own work on. I think you’ve changed things around enough, not to have to worry about copyright infringement. I really like the spheres in the third presentation from the top, third item down, in the presentation. It looks like you were having a ball, you little thief. LOL. Great job!
lovely! i’d love to wear a kameez of the first print you ‘created’
so colourful and creative, i love it!
Absolutely beautiful Gilly! Great entry! 🙂
Very creative, Gilly! I’m impressed!
They are definitely yours. In music it would be “Variations on a theme by…”
Lovely creations!
What an unique art. I like them.
such creative designs, Gilly. love them all!
Brilliant! In more ways than one! Well done.
Interesting post and interesting question. I wish I knew the answer. I would say that once you introduce the kaleidoscope element it becomes your work.
Thanks everyone for visiting and your comments 🙂
I’m going with “maybe never,” especially if you try to gain fame or finances from it. If you just do it to create a graphic for a card to send to a friend, then all’s well.
Thanks, yes thats about the level of it, I’ll never be rich or famous anyway!
Fascinating designs!
Fun, colorful and creative .. alll forms of design.
Extremely … well done, Ms. Gilly.
You are a versatile person. I still have my Christmas card.
I loved it so much.
Hugs and Toodles,
Izzy
Thy are all beautiful but the very colorful one is my favorite. I could see it on fabric for a dress and skirt. 😉
Me too, I would love to print my own fabric!
Very Cool Post
