This week, share a photographic “Oops!” moment with us. The fiasco could be what’s in the picture: anything broken, jumbled, or otherwise cringe-worthy (ugly sweaters are encouraged!). Or it could be something in the photo-taking itself, from the tip of your finger ruining a meticulously framed panorama to an inopportune shadow messing up a family portrait.
So Ben at the Daily Post is giving me the opportunity to show something I excel at, taking photos on the wonk! Most noticeable on my coastal horizons, the ones below are all taken in Devon.
It would seem that I favour a dizzy-making right hand down, OOPS.
So the water slopes southwards in your part of the world 😉
My pet hate, wonky horizons, thank goodness for editing software!
I knew you’d be having a cringe moment looking at these, Jude. My first thought actually. 🙂
hehe… you know me SO well!
I know it exists but I’ve never used it. If it’s not straight I erase the shot.
Very easy to amend in Pixlr (free software).
Great photos Gilly, albeit a little tipsy turvy! 🙂 You’re not the only one who ends up with tilted sea shots, I have taken many such photos!!
Did you know there are a fair number of free software image editing tools that can correct the tilt of a photo?
You’re so brave to show us these, Gilly. I feel quite dizzy now. 😕
They always make me cross, Gilly, and I delete them immediately. 🙂
Oops! Feeling a tad sea-sick now! Despite the downward slant the views are lovely Gilly
Nice subject matter. 🙂

I like your gallery of themed oops! On the one with a splash and rail, I imagined myself on a cruise in rough sea. Cool!
Don’t know about ‘Opps’ Gilly! These are great especially the water splashing!
I thought this was what all photos with a horizon were supposed to look like!!!
Hmmm…..dont know what a “wonk” is Gilly, but I’m thinking it’s not a good thing LOL! Good choices.
Some of yours are tilted right hand down, and some tilt to the left, Gilly. At least you have variety! Most of mine are in one direction, right hand tilted downward. I think I have a permanent tilt to my eye’s-view. 🙂
If you know your “Oops” tendency, at least you can correct for it. 🙂 Good set.

Hahaha! They looked fine to me. 🙂
