For those of you who were concerned or confused about my wellbeing or sanity today, I thought I’d show you where my Mundane Monday photo was taken.
You may remember this photo from when I took you for a walk around the lake at Stourhead, this is the view through the rocky surrounds of the grotto.
Inside, if you look up, you’ll see this morning’s image.

If you look down you’ll see this.

And once outside in the grey autumn light,

Look at the left side of this photo, can you see the spokes on the outside of the grotto’s roof? No wells, rabbit holes or manholes anywhere to be seen, just another folly!
I NEVER worry about your sanity. I knew it was a grotto somewhere. π Happy Monday!
How unimaginative I am! It never occurred to me that the post was anything other than down looking up!
Thanks for the clarification, Gilly. I’ll sleep better tonight. π
I must have been in there, I wonder if I looked up? [scurries away to shuffle through the photo folder]
What a lovely place to visit Gilly! I see this Grotto have quite a history. Thanks for sharing these gorgeous photos. I love these virtual travels with you. π β₯
I may have mentioned before that Stourhead is one of my very favourite NT places, whatever the weather!
I’m pleased to hear that you don’t spend all your time down wells Gilly π I hadn’t realised you have a fascination with follies, I can perfectly understand that, they are amazing things, and they bring out the inner child in many of us π And BTW, those photos from Stourhead are brilliant!!!!
well, I would never have guessed in a million years. π
So peaceful and just brings the temperature down a notch from mere looking at the pictures π
