Ashburton is a pretty little town in south Devon, it lies to the south east of Dartmoor National Park and is a former Stannary town. As well as it’s fair share of traditional shops, including an ironmonger, it has a lot of vintage and antique shops, expensive but intriguing.
I had a wander earlier in the week and found this wedding dress hanging in a charity shop. As soon as i saw this weeks challenge I knew this was my entry. It’s a pity I used my mobile, but you’ll get the idea.
My first thoughts were vintage late 1960’s, but an image search failed to confirm that, there wasn’t anything that risqué. Do you have any ideas? The lace doesn’t seem modern to me.
So this is my rare entry, do you have one to share?

Intriguing Gilly ~ I’ve never seen anything like it! I’d have to take the circles out and wear a camisole underneath.to preserve my modesty ~ I’m thinking shell pink. I’m getting a 20’s vibe from it but I could be wildly wrong! 🤔
I like the Madonna-esque like circles for bra coverage. It’s adorable! 🙂
Not very attractive at all, Gilly. I can’t imagine a husband waiting at the altar and loving the sight of his bride marching down the aisle in this creation. 😆 I see that Eliz mentioned Madonna. Yes, maybe her risqué style influenced the design. 🙂
Great find for Rare, Gilly! But it wouldn’t do me…too weird
This should definitely win the prize for the Most Rare item presented in this challenge. I am in my 60’s and I have never seen anything like this. In lingerie, yes, but not in wedding dresses.
Thanks goodness that style is rare! 🙂 I know I wouldn’t be wearing it.
Definitely not my style – too revealing.
Rare and risqué .. A Madonna number your sure 😃
Very interesting dress. My daughter is looking for a wedding dress at the moment…..
Ooh-la-la! Just a bit too much reveal, but then you do see a lot of cleavage sometimes. 🙂 It does look like something from Bowie days.
Quite risque really. Leaves a lot to be imagined.
Looks simple for a wedding dress.
