railway station in Florence gets its name from the church just around the corner from it, and it’s where I arrived for a week in that lovely city. I took this early evening photo from my room on the fourth floor of the Rosso 23, looking at the Piazza Santa Maria Novella.
I’ll post more in the next few weeks when I’ve caught up a bit!
Oooooh, pretty! They put so much loving care into their architecture back then, didn’t they?
They did indeed Sandra and every where you look in Florence it’s beautiful.
I’m very happy for you that you get to visit Italy. Florence, even though not the best-est Italian destination, is actually a top favorite of mine.
Thanks Rommel, how are you? which would you say is the best Italian destination?
Yes, I am also interested to know where you think the best destination is in Italy 🙂
yes, I too would be intrigued to know what you would describe as the bestest Italian destination? possibly Venice?
That is a beautiful shot of Santa Maria Novella! 🙂
Looking forward to more posts!
I walked past that church every day we were there. Our hotel was just around the corner, but without that view. I do keep remembering that I have unposted frescoes from the church. One of these days… 🙂 🙂 Lovely to have yoou back, sweetheart. Gently into the weekend.
Hello my lovely, how are you? It was a very convenient place to stay, everything was so close by. Gosh I loved that city, I could have stayed for weeks. I’m not very good at remembering details of what I’ve seen, or even what day it is really 😉 so I really appreciate the amount of work you put into your posts. I didn’t actually go inside Santa Maria Novella, crazy eh? But even with a week there wasn’t time for all the churches etc there are to choose from. We’d planned to go on the last morning but went to Pisa instead, next time maybe. Have a lovely weekend sweetie x:-)x
I’m good, thanks! Just so glad you enjoyed it. You needed a break. And how are the pups? 🙂 🙂
They’ve come home better behaved, I think their birth mummy must have told them off! 🙂 🙂 🙂
Good for her! (and them 🙂 )
Looks very peaceful Gilly. Good hotel then? Did you get a bargain like with Barca?
i was wondering if you had been to Florence yet – looks like the perfect view. i quite enjoyed Florence earlier this year, even though it was just a short visit while on an excursion while on a cruise. a place i would love to see again – when the temps are cooler than they were in June 🙂
looking forward to more pics once you get around to posting more – but no pressure of course! welcome back home 🙂
A foretaste of glory divine. Sorry. I seem to be quoting hymns madly. Haven’t sung’em for at least 50 years. I’m very much looking forward to your Florence. Sorry for your sake you’re back.
Wow! What a sublime view!
