January Small Stones # 8

Observing a neighbour sweeping leaves.

A powerful symbol the broom

swept away bad people from Tiv

from a fragile landscape

the dead leaves of society

and in Yorubaland the corrupt.

  1. Twi and Yoruba being two Nigerian languages; Nigerian politics are notoriously corrupt; I may eventually decode this…
On the other hand, some help would be nice.

  2. You know the broom is a symbol for many things in the carribean. The santeria’s
use it for doing away of evil spirits by sweeping them away. Of course, there are
others but an interesting item for metaphors.
    Nice,
    Isadora

I would love to hear from you . . .
