. . . of summer, Jude has reminded me.
Clematis are favourites of mine, they are such good value plants, flowering their little heads off. If you choose well you can have one flowering nearly every month of the year – well maybe 8 months? My neighbour makes me very happy because her Tangutica blooms abundantly over the fence near my bedroom window, thanks Katie! Even when the flowers are over, the seed heads will last for a couple of months. I took some photos earlier this evening, they will cheer me up on a winter day.
I hope their sunshine makes you smile!
Magnificent photos. Sunshine, indeed. Yellow, like sunshine, always makes me smile. β€ β€ π
A lovely sonata in yellow. I like tributes to flowers. And clematis is particularly interesting to me because our clematis is so different and humble by comparison. That first photo with its echoes is my favourite.
They glow prettilyπ
Ah, these yellow ones are such little beauties, they flower for ages. You have some lovely shots of them here. I have a photo or two coming up. There are winter flowering clematis – Clematis armandii which is evergreen AND scented, flowers from February or Clematis cirrhosa which are earlier flowering. Both need to be kept out of cold winds but can be grown outdoors. So I guess you can have one in flower pretty much all year round π
Beautiful! Clem 4 is my favorite. π
Really lovely sunshiny faces, Gilly.
Nice flowers, never seen them before I don’t think. But I do like you get more bang for your buck because they bloom all the time. In the desert, you’re lucky if you get one good day out of some flowers.
Such happy little faces peering in your bedroom window Gilly
Thanks Gilly. You have tempted me out into my garden to see what ‘last’ colour is there. I love the complexity of a clematis flower. Thanks for sgaring!
Smiling in Pittsburgh, enjoying your sunny blossoms.
Pretty. Gilly! I must admit I’ve come to know the names of flowers and shrubs on this your blog. A good thing for me! π
Gilly, what a lovely colour! I don’t think I’ve seen that one. It’s a little beauty! We have quite a few clematis. Might go looking for that one for our ongoing garden makeover. π
I think some people would call it a thug, its so abundant, but I love it’s colour and silky seadheads!
I’m wading through my photos from last week, feeling cold but my mozzie bites still itch and I have a big black bruise on my ankle! π π π
Oh dear π¦ Worth it though- I hope? π
Absolutely x:-)x
Oh, they sure did Gilly! Stunning shots of these beauties! I would smile every morning when I see beauties like this. π β₯
Ours hasn’t flowered this year π¦ I live in hopes……
