Too true, Gilly
What a fabulous shot, Gilly! Jude would ‘bee’ proud of this in her Macro collection. 🙂 Have a happy weekend!
Jude is wondering WHY it isn’t in the macro collection! What a beauty!
We are so happy to have bees back in the garden. A couple of years ago, they were dying right in front of me,and it was horrible. Now, they are happily buzzing about.
Fabulous capture of the flowers and bees, Gilly. Great message!
People need to stop using pesticides and grow nature garden…
Beautiful capture, Gilly.
Talking to the converted here Gilly! Fab photo!
Thanks Julia, are you taking a rest from blogging?
Thank you for such a timely reminder. Without bees there will be no food. Without food there will be no people. 🙂
What a stunning shot of this gorgeous little bee Gilly! Love the article and it’s all so true. Bees are so important to us and the more people realise it, the better it will be for all of us. Thanks for sharing. ♥
I’m so fascinated by the bees … how their society works and hard they work. Beautiful take on the topic!!!
I love your choice as bees do help us create so much not just flowers but the seeding for plants and foods we end up eating… Beautiful shot! 🙂
Yes, we do! [Happy to say my balcony is always hospitable to bees! 🙂 ]
I have lots and lots and lots of bees in all my azalea bushes. But, darn it, I can never get a good picture of them the way you do.
I’m a Beeliever Gilly and love your photo. I’m in love with the blue striped bees (native to Australia) that have made their home in my garden for the last eight years. I must dig out some pics for you.
I rescued the most enormous bumble bee I think I have ever seen the other day when it flew into the conservatory and couldn’t find its way out. A mug and a piece of card did the trick, though he was mightily annoyed at being captured buzzing furiously, he seemed quite relieved when I let him go outside. Love the image Gilly, great colour and wonderful close up 😀
Preaching to the choir here, Gilly. We have a butterfly bush that also attracts bees as well as some other flowers that do as well. Lovely shot.

Great close-up of the bumble bee, Gilly. Growing bee-friendly plants is a very good idea. 🙂
Yes, we do! We are an integral part of the nature and not separate special entities. We have got to learn to preserve.
A beautiful colorful photo for this great post. Thanks, Gilly!
Great post Gilly….I used to keep bees, but lost the whole hive to total colony collapse😞😥I think a neighbour had sprayed some toxic weed killer
Without bees it would bee a sad flowerless world Gilly. Over here we have hundreds of different types of native bees, many of them are just specific to one type of flower If that bee goes so does that flower.
Brilliant post Gilly, it always makes me happy to see anyone supporting the plight of our essential and beautiful buzzing furry friends 🙂
I always grow lots of flowers in my garden .. Lavender, phacelia, borage, zinnia .. They gorgeous fuzzies love purple 😃
The clarity and crisp on your images is just impressive. You really are a pro.
This really is so important!! I have also written a blog on this subject – Feel free to read 🙂
