This week’s photo challenge, set by Ben Huberman is the last for 2017. He asks us to share our favourite photo of the year, but how do you choose one, or even ten? It doesn’t have to be a technically good image, but meaningful to us in some way. When I started looking through my files for the photo that means most to me this year, I ended up in tears, because it would have to be one of my beloved border terrier Dido, who I lost in May. Whoops here I go again.
Once I picked myself up, I settled on a photo of the Tuscan countryside. This was a place I’d wanted to visit for a while, so finally seeing it meant a lot to me.
If you have a favourite photo to share for the year, join in with Ben
Ah, the Toscana!
And what a choice. I would love to live in that farmhouse surrounded by the grape vines and the olive trees.
Oh, Gilly! 😦 I’m glad you have lots of doggy affection to keep you company this Christmas. God bless! 🙂 🙂
Oh how beautiful! It ‘s my favorite place. 💖
Wish you the best for 2018, Gilly!
Thank you for sharing so many beautiful photos and stories with us. :)
Always the sadness of loss, Gilly. But Tuscany remains, and this is a wonderful photo – all those lines and green shapes.
A place I would love to visit and this photo fills my expectations.
It’s a beautiful landscape Gilly, and reading it’s contours of vineyards and olive trees it looks like a place with happy travel memories.
Beautiful picture but sending lots and lots of hugs . . . I lost one of my cats just over a year ago but still see her out of the corner of my eye sometimes, and wow do I gulp.
Ahh she’s just checking up on you Becky 🙂
Yikes – I better start behaving myself then, she could be very disapproving at times!!!
Oh I can see why it is special .. such a beautiful place Gilly! Big hugs lovely .. hope Christmas was special for you! 🙂
The missing of dear Dido brings a lump to my throat. They just aren’t with us long enough. My granddaughter Maura burst into tears over Christmas when she looked at a blogpost in memory of their Murphy. And yes they have two rambunctious Airedales now but they will never replace the spot in our hearts for dear Murph.
And your countryside is lovely, Gilly. So hard to choose.
