If you rush around all the time, it’s easy to miss the things that are right under your nose. Dear John the crab Downie is looking particularly lovely this year and is flowering his little heart out.
It could be a busy autumn!

He is a little beauty 😘
So lovely. Is it scented?
Oh how I love crab apple trees. Our garden is too small for a John Downie, and I look longingly at garden catalogues that show them in fruit and think of jelly! Have recently planted a very little Red Jade in our front garden – small and weeping – and today its tiny flowers are wide open trying to be really big flowers. Trees with generous spirits. Also Dear John’s blossom is quite exquisite.
He’s spectacular, Gilly. 🙂
Not familiar with Mr. Downie (as if! 🙂 ) but Tish has given me some clues. Handsome chap!
I love your title. And crabapple flowers always charm.
Such lovely shots.
He sure is flowering his heart out! Super images .. looks like you’ll be busy making jelly 🙂
Beautiful blossoms Gilly ~ hope you get a good crop of apples this year! 🙂
