A few weeks before Christmas I posted some photos taken on an afternoon trip to the moor, At the time I said I’d be back with a few more, but then l forgot.
I asked if anyone could guess the location, only Jude would have a vague idea, but she was a few miles out.
Think Hounds of the Baskervilles!
Yes, it’s Houndtor, my favourite place on Dartmoor.Well, one of two, or three!
Looks beautiful, Gilly π π
It’s stunning even in the most darling, thanks xx
Itβs gorgeous, Gilly.
Atmospheric with that soft mist drifting through the valley
Moors are so atmospheric, but best enjoyed on a sunny day. Though the misty images you have captured here are very beautiful.
Lovely scenery!
Captured so beautifully! It is challenging to photograph on a foggy day.
Stunning photographs like this make me want to move back to the edges of Dartmoor so i can go out exploring its beautiful wilds again!
When did you live there Becky and where?
End of 70s/early 80s, and we were in Tamerton Foliot, so not close to the moor, but it felt like we were as we were always heading out for walks on the moor π
Great shots Gilly π ..looks special
Thanks for reminding “Hounds of the Baskervilles”. It’s time turn some pages.
A great collection of photographs here, Hound Tor is such a photogenic beauty spot. You have captured this Granite Tor beautifully!
Thank you! Do you have a favourite place on the moor? I’ve been over to visit and follow you, but can’t see anywhere to leave a comment?
Hi Lucid Gypsy, your very welcome, you have a lovely selection of images. That’s a tough one, I would have to say Bellever Tor, Shaugh Prior, Burrator Reservoir and The Old Princetown Railway. Thank you very much for the follow and cheers for pointing out to us about the comments not working, we have now fixed this problem, meaning if you want, you can re-visit the blog and leave any comments you like! π
What a wonderful place Gilly.
So many faces in those rocks. π
