I took this picture in Ghana on Easter Sunday where they were celebrating the resurrection and better days to come, as they paraded to church.
I thought I would also add that my Nigerian name is Nkeiruka, it means bright future or the best is yet to come!
This picture looks so joyful! Love it! Thanks again for joining… 🙂
Smiles in places such as Ghana are precious, full of volume and surreal.
Rommel! are you going to join in this week?
Oh Gilly, you know how I’m way behind with my WPC entries. I can’t participate to other challenges. Will always view entries though. 😀

Love the meaning of your Nigerian name, Gilly. What a happy photo for the challenge. 🙂
Wonderful!! I lived for 3 months in Ghana (Accra). My name there is AKUA which means Wednesday. Nothing special, but you get the name of the day you were born. The name is different for boys and for girls… I guess your name is so much nicer 😉 Have a nice and sunny weekend Gilly!! And thanks for remembering me of the beautiful country Ghana!!!
Lucky you 3 months in Accra! Yes i know everyone has the day of the week as part of their name in Ghana, its cool!
Unfortunately it has been already 6 years ago….hopefully I’ll go back one day to this marvellous and peaceful country!! 😀
Your Nigerian name Nkeiruka is intriguing, Gilly. It’s difficult to know how to pronounce it.
Would the 1st – K – be silent? I wish I could hear you say it. I wish I had a name that had a
meaning. Your photo is perfect and I do believe the best is yet to come with your photo’s.
They just keep getting better and better. It looks like your future is bright.

A post that is worth a thousand words. Moving and inspiring!
hi Gilly,
thank you for sharing this Ghana / Nigeria feelings!
Oh Gilly, aren’t I tickled to see this photo? As a kid, we use to march through the streets of where I lived in Accra singing to commemorate Jesus’ triumphant entry into Jerusalem, the Hossana. During Easter we joined our mothers and grandmothers as we held lanterns to guide us on our way to look for the resurrected Jesus. And this was done amidst singing of hymns and traditional Easter songs. BTW, my name is Afua, a girl born on Friday as you well know. A beautiful photo and a beautiful name to go with it. Thank you for sharing.
Wonderful name! Happy post.
BE ENCOURAGED! BE BLESSED!
Fascinating photo, Gilly. The joy and excitement leaps out of the photo!
