I assume it’s obvious that it’s cut from a tree trunk? the blue areas are fungi, and the people are carved. I just played with the colour a little. 🙂
Okay, don’t laugh: When I first saw this, I saw a carving giving a crude depiction of a family being lifted up (beamed up if you will) into some inter-planetary area. Now that’s saying a lot for me since I firmly believe there is not life on other planets. However, my point is that this is one of those photos that can ignite a whole world of imagination. Why not send it to Rochelle as a possible prompt for Friday Fictioneers?
I like that it takes a moment of thought to figure out what this picture actually is. Fascinating, and very creative. They look like they’re emerging from within the wood.
Oddly, I had commented on this one last night. The comment mysteriously isn’t appearing here.
MMMmmmm … perhaps, the image has done something with it. ~~~ : – O
I had two thoughts on this image.
One is that there is a Mother with her children entering into a special place because tragically they reached their demise through some sort of accident. The second thought was that it is an alien who takes children to the space ship and they, now, become aliens, too. I saw so much in this pix. Odd … isn’t it???? ~~~~ : – O
Definitely, a wordless photo that gives one pause.
Toodles,
Issy
holding together through all those fractures!
A bit of a cracked family is it.??? Mind you, might be cracked but holding together…
What a lovely little family. 🙂
Wow – that’s quite something, Gilly.
Wonderful photo!
BE ENCOURAGED! BE BLESSED!
How amazing. Now I want to know more about this, but it’s Wordless Wednesday, so i suppose you can’t tell me. 😦

Reblogged this on Wordless Wednesday reblogs..
Where is it? We all need to know….. 🙂
It’s Rosemoor!, carved into a tree trunk and I tweaked the colour a little 🙂
Must be new since I visited – but we are talking a lot of years…. Yes, must plan a visit. Hope it’s soon. Thanks
A pause and think kind of art.
I hope that what I did added to it.
Interesting
fixed in wood … maybe with roots like wood, growing like a tree?
Don’t that beat all! Wow. This is enchanting, Gilly.

Very intriguing 🙂 And yes what you did makes it all the more so.
