Lovely haiku and photo. I’m guessing the photo came first since the poem describes it perfectly. My students in the Writing Poetry class just finished a lesson on haiku (well, on three kinds of Japanese poetry) this week, and they enjoyed it immensely — particularly one of them who has struggled especially hard with getting meter and rhyme into some of his work. Haiku is really his “cup of tea,” so to speak.
I like this and love the photo. Perfect for Halloween.
The picture has that hazy feel and the lights are ablaze. The word ‘but’ emphasizes the contrast between the light in spite of dark falling.
❤ ❤
Now that is just one stunning shot Gilly. Great haiku as well! 😀
I love this and the street lamp is quite interesting and beautiful as well.
