A Little on the Decrepit Side

and no, I don’t mean me, despite another birthday.

decrepit [2DECREPIT is another pick from Paula’s list, the one she didn’t think I’d do. She doesn’t know me very well yet, but I’m another blogger who likes images of decay. Visit Lost in Translation, to join in.

Anyone else struggling with the weekly photo challenge this week?

  1. oh, how lovely is this. i think that places and objects which are decaying gracefully make for some poignant camera targets, too. it makes you wonder what kind of stories they could tell if they could but speak.

and it seems that some greetings are in order – a Happy Belated Birthday to you!

i was a bit stumped with the photo challenge as well, especially since i have already once talked about numbers in a previous post, and and i don’t think i could top that one. so i’m stretching the theme a bit. in a few days it’s the First Tuesday of the month, and Timmy seems to be coming up with some numbers of his own, so will see what he has to say then 🙂

have a wonderful weekend! it’s sunny here 🙂

  2. When was your birthday, Gilly? 🙂 This is a superb shot and edit of a decrepit little doorway. Is the number on the door 26 or 28? Thank you, and you are right. I don’t know you well yet and this was a huge and pleasant surprise 🙂

    1. It was Thursday Paula and I was very old! Glad you liked the doorway, I wonder if it’s been repaired now, I’ll have to send Jo to check it out when she next visits Tavira. I think it’s number 28 🙂

  3. I was just thinking ‘where’s Sue when you need her?’ but you’ve done a grand job. Can’t say I recognise it, but then, there are one or two decrepits in Tavira, and that’s not including me 🙂
And you’ve got a six words title so you could have 2 for one! Hugs, sweetheart 🙂

  4. Age is just a number Gilly, I stopped counting long ago, I just wonder who that person is when I look in the mirror, ‘cos it don’t look a bit like me! Many more happys to come and I just love your version of decrepit. 🙂

  5. I really like this photo. Gilly. This is not an easy capture, but you’ve done a great job. I love the composition and the green color is perfect for the image.

I would love to hear from you . . .
