. . . of my favourite places is Dartmoor National park, right here in Devon. It’s impossible to chose just one really isn’t it? This weeks photo challenge is pretty similar to the last, where I chose my own city as the place I’d rather be. Outside of Devon and the UK, my favourite place is usually the most recent place I’ve travelled to, but I’ve decided to stick to the moor.

A beautiful gallery of this park, Gilly. I can see why it’s your favorite place.
Some great images, Gilly!
Hi,, Love your photos. We are planning to do a circular tour tomorrow in Voyager from Tavistock via B3357, B3212, A382, A30, & A386. Have you any suggestions for places to visit near this route to take some good photos? Nigel & Mary
Well you’ll go right across the moor! You can pause for a glimpse of the notorious Dartmoor prison at Princetown. Take the B3212 left at Two Bridges (where they have lovely cream tea!) park at Postbridge and see the clapper bridge. Keep going to Moretonhampstead, left there on the A382. Some of the moor towns aren’t very accessible but stop at Chagford if you thinks it s okay its very pretty. Leaving there Castle Drogo the last castle built in England is a right turn a few miles on – National Trust. Going west again on the A30, just past Okehampton is Meldon Reservoir and Viaduct. The views on these roads are fabulous, definitely a nice drive, enjoy and I’ll look forward to seeing where you end up!
Stunning vistas, especially the stone circle.
simply beautiful gallery and jointly colors!!
This is a lovely trip down memory lane for me Gilly. I used to drive across the moor, from Plymouth to Okehampton and Hatherleigh when I worked for a Housing Association, Gilly. It was one of my favourite trips, thank you for taking me back! 🙂
I love the wildness of it, Gilly. 🙂 🙂 We’re off down the Moors tomorrow with the group and I’m really looking forward to it. It’s been too long!
It is impossible to choose just one place – I’m not even beginning to think about it. That tree is indeed a monument of nature, and I specially love the first landscape.
Breathtaking scenery Gilly. I can see why this place is your favourite.
I love that beautiful old tree, you do live in a beautiful place Gilly
