Three Day Quote Challenge Day 3

Well three days have passed very quickly, how is it that weekends rush by and work days drag?

Clarissa Pinkola Estes is a Jungian psychoanalyst, cantadora and one of my all time favourite writers, and at times the sky and sea make me feel like I’m going to burst.

The doors to the world of the wild Self are few but precious. If you have a deep scar, that is a door, if you have an old, old story, that is a door. If you love the sky and the water so much you almost cannot bear it, that is a door. If you yearn for a deeper life, a full life, a sane life, that is a door.

The rules of the challenge are simple,
Thank the person who chose you, cheers Jo 🙂

      1. Many years ago – like probably early 90s!!!! If there are more quotes like that one I’d better re-read. (My Australian daughter has an ongoing Facebook adventure piece called Woman who runs with the half-lame Labrador – that’s what she was doing pre-dawn for a number of years.)

  1. Meg just said it for me. Wow, what a quote! I love it, darlin. And now I’m wrapped in ignorance because I’ve never heard of this lady. I’d better do some research! And then I shall take myself off to somewhere that the sky and sea meet. Have a wonderful Monday, Gilly! 🙂 🙂

    1. She wrote Women who run with the wolves, I read it when I was forty and would have been totally lost if I hadn’t. I Hope you have the sun, it doesn’t sound as if Jude has.
      Happy days darling x:-)x

      1. I must look it up. Just been on a longish walk round the edge of our town. Loads of new builds encroaching on the countryside. Can’t laze in the garden all day. Glorious and sunny still xxx

      2. I’m waiting for it to cool a bit before walking the dogs at the valley park, trouble is George wants to run much more than he should yet.
Down there the gaps between the east of the city and surrounding villages are closing fast, with homes that most can’t afford. I didn’t laze, but took junk to the recycling centre – oh the joys 🙂 I did mange to find some new clothes in Exmouth this morning though.

  2. Fabulous, quote and photo. Not going near the coast today as it is still in fog by the looks of it, only just burned through up here! A day to relax, get the washing on the line and enjoy my own garden for a change. I must have a lot of doors; some of which I would rather remain closed. Enjoy your holiday Monday Gilly, hope the sun is shining for you 😀

  3. Wow! Brilliant image to accompany a thought~provoking and inspiring quote, Gilly! I have heard of the author but have never been drawn to her work ~ maybe I’ll investigate further now! 🙂

I would love to hear from you . . .
