Three Day Quote Challenge Day 3

Well three days have passed very quickly, how is it that weekends rush by and work days drag?

Clarissa Pinkola Estes is a Jungian psychoanalyst, cantadora and one of my all time favourite writers, and at times the sky and sea make me feel like I’m going to burst.

The doors to the world of the wild Self are few but precious. If you have a deep scar, that is a door, if you have an old, old story, that is a door. If you love the sky and the water so much you almost cannot bear it, that is a door. If you yearn for a deeper life, a full life, a sane life, that is a door.

Three Day Quote Challenge, day 2

Today is day 2 for my 3 day quote challenge, and this on is from a very inspiring writer, Ben Okri.

His words are full of wisdom, but this quote helps me to feel ok about my many unfinished writings.

If you are working in an office, where do you find the time to write a novel? But you can finish a short story in five pages. Furthermore, a short story is a perfect place to learn the craft.

The Quotes Challenge Day Three

Aayusi has kindly nominated me for the Quotes Challenge, thank you again Aayusi. Today is my last post. The idea is to post a favourite quote for three days and nominate three people to join in. I haven’t nominated, but instead if you haven’t been invited but want to take part please do so. So here is day three, a very special one that few of you will have come across.

If the Universe wants you somewhere you know it will happen regardless of the weather

The Quotes Challenge Day Two

Aayusi has kindly nominated me for the Quotes Challenge, and in typical Lucid G style I’m late, but I am here! The idea is to post a favourite quote for three days and nominate three people to join in, so, day two.

Sometimes I come across a tree which seems like Buddha or Jesus: loving, compassionate, still, unambitious, enlightened, in eternal meditation, giving pleasure to a pilgrim, shade to a cow, berries to a bird, beauty to its surroundings, health to its neighbors, branches for the fire, leaves for the soil, asking nothing in return, in total harmony with the wind and the rain. How much can I learn from a tree? The tree is my church, the tree is my temple, the tree is my mantra, the tree is my poem and my prayer.

I’m not nominating, so if you’ve been wanting to join in, go for it!

The Quotes Challenge Day One

Aayusi has kindly nominated me for the Quotes Challenge today! I hadn’t heard of it until then, but suddenly it’s everywhere. The idea is to post a favourite quote for three days and nominate three people to join in. Here is my Day One.

I hope you will go out and let stories happen to you, and that you will work them, water them with your blood and tears and your laughter till they bloom, till you yourself burst into bloom. Then you will see what medicines they make, and where and when to apply them. That is the work. The only work.

Thank you again Aayusi!
I won’t choose anyone, but instead invite anyone who would like to join in to do so.
