In the Thar desert where the temperature can reach the mid forties, a simple structure providing shade can make a big difference.

This photo takes me back to 1980’s when I rode a camel across the Thar desert. What an interesting place
I rode a camel to a desert shack for the night, but it was probably only a few miles.
I rode across the Thar for 4 days, sleeping under the stars in a tent. One of my truly memorable adventures
Not sure I’d doing very well in a hot climate!

Not much shade to share around – and yet another adventure. I’ve only ever ridden a camel at Silverton near Broken Hill, with vicarious association through Robin Davidson’s “Tracks”!
