Starting and Finishing with Boats
I spent the day exploring with a friend today and turning right too soon led us to Galmpton Creek, sleepy on a Saturday but a nice diversion. It’s on the river Dart and Dittisham can be seen in the distance.
The last stop was at Shaldon beside the river Teign estuary, more boats and a lovely evening light.
Tomorrow I’ll try to show you the space between!
Weekly Photo Challenge: Silhouette
Sara Rosso over at http://dailypost.wordpress.com/ says that ‘The proper definition of a silhouette is “the outline of a body viewed as circumscribing a mass.” In photography, often we achieve that effect by putting light behind the object whose silhouette we want to capture, effectively darkening out the features of the subject instead of highlighting them.’
I don’t know if this works but it’s the best I can come up with.
It’s either a photo that’s gone wrong or it just scrapes in as a silhouette, what do you think?
Do you have a silhouette photo to share?

Teignmouth, My Last day Off
It’s been a lovely Christmas and although I was back at work for one day last Friday, the New Year bank holiday has made it seem like a long break. I’ve had some nice days out and good walks to try to get rid of some of the excesses! This afternoon I went to Teignmouth, 12 miles down the coast, a seaside town as you can guess on the estuary. It’s busy in summer but I thought it would be quiet today. Wrong! it was actually full of life even though it had been showery. I guess everyone else was making the most of their last day too and the sun did us proud for the second day of 2012.
