Ailsa has chosen Animals to mark World Animal Day on Thursday, 2 days ago. I was very privileged to be able to visit Sepilok, Borneo to see the orang-utans, really high on my ‘do before I die’ list. I hope you like this beauty!
Lucky you. Borneo sound like a very exotic adventure indeed. The orang-utan is just gorgeous, Gilly. 🙂
Is this the place where Orang-utans who have been displaced by the loss of their habitat when the trees have been cut down, or rescued from unsuitable homes are cared for before being moved to a new area?
Yes Isobel, you nay have seen it on tv http://www.orangutan-appeal.org.uk/about-us/sepilok-rehabilitation-centre
So cute and fluffy!
What a great candid shot, Gilly!
Seems pensive to me. Lost in thought but I see, still HOT!
Oh my! What a wonderful post. Thank you for sharing Gilly 🙂
That’s one amazing redhead!
Great shot [[[
Fantastic, Gilly. This is a definite on my “do before I die list” too. I hope that there are still orangutans left in the world then. Their survival is under serious threat.
what an image Gilly…and how lucky were you to see them like this…i fear the way we are going that might not be the case for long
what a great image! lucky you! z
Outstanding image, Gilly. This Orang-utan has the hair color I’ve been trying to
get from a bottle. MMmmm … he or she wears it so well. Beautiful animal….!!!!
Awwww so cute!!!! 🙂
Awesome… You made it to Borneo! 🙂
Perfect!
Oh no, not my fav. one. 🙂
Just beautiful. My lady and I were privileged to be able to visit Tanjung Putting National Park in Kalimantan (Indonesian Borneo), spending several days amongst these, and many other, amazing creatures.
