I love these homes that I saw in Northern Ghana. It looks like such a tight community, something to be treasured in our hectic world.

beatuiful!
…something to be treasured
in our hectic world!
very tru Gilly…we have forgotten the true meaning of home in the western world I sometimes think
Love them too. Houses made from the basic elements of nature just takes my breathe away. They also remind us of what having a simple life should be. I grew up where my dad brings me to the farm and we would sleep in bamboo houses. Some of them sits on top of water inside a huge prawn fishpond. The best moment is when I wake up and all I hear are the sounds of birds, the gushing water and the stillness….priceless!
houses that are one with nature, no door locks, no poisonous chemicals, no status symbols, completely biodegradable and recyclable …. oh if only we could relearn these simple things 🙂
What a gorgeous little homestead. We have definitely lost the concept of family togetherness in this modern day and age, with families scattered across the globe. 😦
I think people in the Western World would freak out at having their neighbours so close. I know I like to have my space for sure. Lovely shot.
And I bet the occupants are all happy with their lot…….
Wonderful shot and tones, Gilly!
It really does make you think about our hectic lifestyles. Great post.
Love the wooden gate even more. 🙂
Looks peaceful for sure
Interesting, bet there is a pecking order!
It certainly is, Gilly
That does look like a tight community, Gilly. Those huts look similar to the tukul huts in Ethiopia. 🙂
Gilly, wonderful shots of the homes of my fellow Ghanaians, though I ‘ll bet they will give anything to be out of these huts.to better their lots 🙂
Lovely!
Love these homes Gilly! Cathy posted some beautiful ones from Ethiopia. Can feel Africa calling to me 🙂
Terrific shot Gilly! Brings back memories…
I’ve been out of the loop and slowly catching up. TY for your patience. 🙂
