This week the theme of the photo challenge is ‘Escape’ and Cheri Lucas Rowlands says
‘Depending on your current mood and headspace, or time in your life, this word can evoke different emotions and conjure a variety of images. Maybe the end of your semester is near, and you yearn for vacation and release: the desire to disappear and run away, the need to unplug and shut off. Or perhaps you imagine quite the opposite: Lost in a maze. Stuck in a room, feeling boxed in, with the worst company. Frustrated in your own thoughts, wondering what to do next.’
The photo I have chosen shows someone escaping into meditation, I wonder where he went.

Nice! That is the theme I went with as well..escape in 🙂
“I wonder where he went…” that made me chuckle! People sometimes ask me that question, ‘where did you just go?’ – it’s that artist’s right-brained trick to ‘zone out,’ then zone back!
nice take on this theme!
The photo talks ‘serenity’ .. the sepia tones; the subject looks completely at one with his surroundings… hope there was birdsong 🙂
At Dartington, always 🙂
serene scene gilly … escape from busy mind for a while 🙂
Perfect capture ! This one has me stumped.
Love your take on the theme, Gilly. Well done.
I like that Gilly – off out into the universe … 🙂
I love the practice of meditation, Gilly; it works as a kind of escape from worries, busy mind, and thoughts about the past and future. It actually helps a person escape to the NOW, which we so often are oblivious to! Love the photo. 🙂
Good choice for the theme. We all need to escape sometimes!
That is a perfect, instant escape for all of us who want to have a quick sense of peace and calmness, anywhere, anytime. Beautiful! Have a wonderful weekend my friend.
Your take on escape is great. Yearning for school to be out sums it up for me.
Deep in thought and quietly calming from his daily routine.
Great entry … definitely, a silent escape.
Have a GREAT weekend, Gilly.

This picture evokes calm. I feel peace but the funny thing is I hear the echo of birds chirping and the smell of pines. That individual has definitely zoned out. Lucky fellow. Unbelievably effective photo, Gilly.
Good take, Gilly, and one I hadn’t thought about (not that I have a picture of anyone meditating…).

I wish I was good at the art of meditation.
He looks peaceful. I should try this, but I can’t seem to settle down enough to escape.
Beautiful interpretation for this week photo challenge Gilly 🙂
Perfect! I am envious of people who can do that Gilly.
Perfect for this week’s challenge, Gilly … I need to learn to ‘escape’ through meditation!
He looks peaceful, I dare say
