I first noticed this new structure on Exeter quay one day in the winter. It had the sun gleaming on it but I didn’t have my camera! I’ve been back a few times since but sadly the light has never been as good. I didn’t know what it was at first but its an abseil tower and part of a new £5million outdoor education and training centre.
From a distance.
and a bit closer. Would you jump?
There’s still time to join in with this weeks challenge at http://sonelcorner.wordpress.com/2013/07/30/black-and-white-weekly-photo-challenge-upward/

NO I would not jump… but what I would do is say what a beautiful entry for the Upward theme… fantastic…
Reblogged this on Black and White Weekly Photo Challenge Entries.
Wow! That is one tall structure indeed Gilly and what great shots! And no, I would not jump at all as I wouldn’t even get further than the first step. LOL!
Thanks for taking part and for sharing hon. Much appreciated. 😀 *big hugs*
not a training for me. I like elevators …
Interesting structure. NO, I would not jump. I don’t like heights.
I would climb up and down to get a good workout but I would not be jumping. No thanks!
BTW, your strawberries look so juicy and flavorful!
I probably have a go but what the heck is it doing on the historic quay??? Looks a lot like the fire service training tower!
I don’t know if you can picture the boat yard on the strip between the canal basin and the river? The council have reclaimed part of it to build this new outdoor centre – it supposed to attract visitors from the region as is the new indoor climbing centre nearby! They haven’t touched the old warehouses or transit shed on the river side and I hope it hasn’t affected the character of the area 🙂
Phew! Think you mean where the old maritime museum was! Think my son would love it next time we are down:-)
Wünsche einen schönen Abend und einen sommerlichen Wochenstart,Lieber Gruß von mir Gislinde
Can’t beat that for upward!
certainly not. I won’t even go up as I am afraid of heights
