I’ve just spent a week in Sicily and as you can imagine I have lots of photos to share. Where to begin? I thought I would post some shots of the flowers and plants, they are lovely and some, like the soapwort, are brave little things bursting their way through the soil that is always recovering from Etna’s eruptions. Weekly Photo Challenge: Nostalgic
Cheri says ‘Sometimes, we long for the past: for moments we want to remember or recapture. The good times. The golden years. Or perhaps we’re homesick, or longing for something — or someone — that might have been.’
Here are my entries
I wonder if he is nostalgic about travelling back in time.
Boats like this always make me feel nostalgic, I wonder what she was like in her heyday.

Wild Woodbury Orchids
Woodbury common is an area of heathland a few miles east of Exeter, with an ancient hill fort known as Woodbury Castle and stunning views of the sea and abundant wildlife. If you know the right place to look and the right time you may just get lucky and see these!
Wild Orchids – Dactylorhiza Maculata or Dactylorhiza Fuchsii – Can anyone clarify?
This is a scheduled post, see you soon!
Winning a Prize!
I don’t usually enter competitions but when information about a local photography one popped into my inbox I sent an image off on the spur of the moment. I came second amazingly, and on Tuesday I went to collect my prize, a framed copy of the photo.
And here it is,
I’m not sure where I could put it so I might donate it to somewhere local. Anyway it was lovely be chosen!
