Making Entrances

Have you missed me a little?  I guess not, but since last weekend when Christine and Stuart were over from Dadirri, I’ve been away for a few days. I’ve taken around a thousand photos and these are the first few I will show you.

Entrances, doors and thresholds, they always fascinate me and I know I’m not alone. The gallery has pictures from Kent and Sussex, mainly National Trust properties, I hope you enjoy them, click for a bigger view.

  1. Well, from the sublime to the … well, hardly ridiculous, but certainly the opposite on the scale of grand! It’s still making me smile – the fairy door, with its crest above … whimsy at the end of the garden. 🙂

  2. I love how you put these photos together in a theme. My favourite is Secret Door At Sissinghurst, it just looks so inviting … one just wants to go up those steps and see beyond. 🙂

  3. hope you had a perfect week Gilly, as we did … love your entrances, each one inviting and enticing, offering entry to more delights of old!

  4. I thought you had been a bit quite Gilly! Lovely to have to back with us & what a great idea to have a theme for photos. Might magpie that idea!
