inquisitive eyes
watching waiting full of hope
for just the one chance
to spread its wings and soar high
on a swift flight to freedom
Come away with the raggle taggle gypsy-o
inquisitive eyes
watching waiting full of hope
for just the one chance
to spread its wings and soar high
on a swift flight to freedom
What a superb bird-shot, and a matching tanka.
Beautiful! 🙂
What a stunning shot of this beautiful bird Gilly! Wow! Love the tanka too and it fit so well. 😀 ♥
Beautiful and something I could relate to. There are moments in life where we find ourselves like this bird…hopeful for a second chance…hopeful to be freed from something that held us back for so long…hopeful to spread our winds and soar to reach our highest dreams and potentials.
I have only just got my head around a Haiku. So explain to me what a Tanks is, please! Lovely photo – a swallow?
5-7-5-7-7! Same themes related to the natural world. I don’t know what that little beauty was, it was in the tropical hours at the zoo 😀
Thanks Gilly. I wasn’t aware that they had to relate to the natural world – I have a lot to learn!
It’s just the traditional way but not everyone bothers with that. I’m rarely disciplined but as haiku etc is so easy I try to do that at least x😀x
??? Tanks???? wasn’t watching the keyboard there properly. TankA of course 🙂
Handsome bird in contemplation as your words so apt, divulge his thoughts.
Apt words for that lovely photo. 🙂
Your beautiful bird capture and poem make me smile 🙂 Thank you, Gilly!
I love this, Gilly!
Pleased you explained tanka to Jude, I thought you had made a spelling error in your heading… Lovely photo and such appropriate words.
I thought of you yesterday Gilly, but couldn’t find time to visit. So now that I’m here Jude has kindly asked the question that was on my lips. (I was irreverently thinking tanka-top! Sorry 🙂 ) Lovely bird capture and now I’m even wiser. Good weekend, hon! 🙂
A fabulous bird, inspiring words expressing freedom ~ lovely Gilly! 🙂
Beautiful bird and Tanka, Gilly. I’m sure he would approve of your sweet words. 🙂
