Possibly, it does look wonderfully fresh . . .
Oh yes! It was pancake day after all. American style with banana and maple syrup.
Well and truly indulge(d)
Hic!
Come away with the raggle taggle gypsy-o
I’ve decided it’s time to post more about where I live, a really beautiful part of the world, so these are a few photos of the river that runs through my home town. It begins north of here in the depths of the countryside but I’m beginning just down the road and ending ten miles away at the estuary.
So first of all, Exeter’s historic quay
Trew’s weir, a mile down river
Of course there are always mute swans
Kriz’s photo here http://kardzbykris.wordpress.com/2012/02/21/leap-year-additional-february-day-21-2/ inspired this post, because it reminded me of one of my favourite paths, along the mill leat that begins just after the weir.
The leat rejoins the river
The old mill
Looking up river, with the canal on the left .
Another lovely path
Reed beds
The canal, one of the oldest in the country, begins at the quay and runs about five miles to the Turf lock and parallel to the river. This is about half way down.
Topsham quay, the river’s half way point between Exeter and Exmouth
Topsham, looking down river.
Lympstone, eight miles down and the river is quite wide
and finally, the estuary looking west towards Dawlish Warren.
I hope you enjoyed your brief meander down stream!

This weeks prompt is The Flip Side and you would have to be a certain age to get what I’m talking about but here it is!
Down the lane from the fields
The last few bits were thrown into the removal van and us kids went back to our rooms to check for left behinds. ‘It’s no good complaining you’ve forgotten something’, mum’s voice sounded sad, she’d been here forever and thought she would never leave. I saw her through my window, a basket on her arm, picking the bright red fruit for the last time. So much for Strawberry Fields Forever. Dad took her hand and led her to the car. I was last to climb in, with the coins I’d found. ‘Ready?’ said dad ‘Penny Lane here we come.’

Thanks to Inside Out Cafe for this wonderful video, just so amazing!
Oh my …this 5 minute video shows a family of gorillas who visit a village in Uganda. The silence, grace, unity and harmony of it is awesome.
No hurries, no worries… just a stroll into a nearby village.
You can feel the love and amazement of the cameraman who becomes part of the adventure. And the respect and awareness of those filming the visit was beautiful.
The gorillas only visit the village a few times a year and it happened on the last day of their stay … oh my, what a glorious morning it was for all of them. And now for us!
May you see the beauty around you on this glorious day!

So here is my entry for the theme ‘Expression’
Do I look a bit of a goof in this?
No, no, you look very handsome, you must buy!
This photo is about much more than regret but I won’t intrude on any feelings you may have. I felt it appropriate especially as many of my blogging friends are from Australia and New Zealand. It was taken at Anzac Cove, Gallipoli.
and this is to show a little more for those who may never have the opportunity to visit.
Last year, soon after I began blogging, I wrote this poem and posted it with another photo. https://lucidgypsy.wordpress.com/2011/06/21/anzac-cove/
I don’t usually say this but for once if anyone has any feedback I would really appreciate it 😉
Confusion is the child of assumption
Stalk me and question
Ask if I have no shame
Is there nothing sacred
Nothing to be withheld
In this virtual world
Ask if I have no shame
When I share and bare my spirit
I have none I am raw
I have no need to conceal
I am more than half way healed
Ask if I have no shame
And then project your own
Ignore the tribute made
Do I have to shout it loud
To save the virtual stalk
No shame in fact I’m proud
For navigating a wonky journey
So often on my own
Fulfilling a role too early
But now well prepared and grown
Save your stalking energy
For shame unbinding threads
That never served you honestly
Just blanked it from your head
Where still it festers now
