I watched Lost Kingdoms of Africa on TV last night, with the wonderful Gus Casely-Hayford, he featured the Asante nation in Ghana. I had many experiences there and found this photo. I wonder what this little girl dared to hope for.
A few toys perhaps?

There aren’t any places that there aren’t any hopes.
Hope does not need Playstations. Beautiful picture, thank you 🙂
What beautiful eyes…so expressive.
Such beautiful faces. Margie
I think the little girls hoped for a wagon with wheels. And a hug. And some love.
That little girl hope for love and care for other human beings!
Hope is in the heart and can some here. nice picture.. 😉
oh these precious little faces. They bring tears to my eyes.
We are so blessed. We need to remember those who are not.
This is an emotionally stirring photo, Gilly. Now my keyboard
has to be wiped dry.
Hugs,
Izzy
A stroller for her younger sister maybe? Very expressive photo! Speaks a thousand messages.
a very evocative image .. perhaps the grandmother is sitting on the kerb behind, maybe the mother standing watching, all hoping for the basic needs, shelter, food, love and safety … and where are the men? … hopefully at work earning something to support these sweet girls and their families
The little girls eyes are so full of hope.
A beautiful photo that stirs up so much emotions. Here’s hoping that these children find a brighter future to look forward to.
My heart goes out to these children.
Thank you all, I seem to have provoked some strong reactions and that makes me very happy. It really is good to come across someone or something that makes us think and that’s what I love about the blogging community!
Now this is inspiring.
I’m glad you thought so.Thanks for visiting me 🙂
Who we become, and what happens to us along the way is so often based on where we were born. yet there is still hope in the eyes of children……wow! such a powerful image, Gilly….this was a great choice!

I hope that one day they’ll get their heart’s desire. Thanks for sharing this beautiful photo.
