Well three to be precise. We are asked to show off our photos of a flower thsi week and also given some tips on capturing them. I’ve included one of Cee’s favourites, a dahlia, but it was taken with my mobile.
I love the shape and texture of Nigella
And a less common but beautiful Toad Lily

The first image is stunning! Wow! That will wake you from a dream fog!!! Z
incredible dahlia gilly!!!! red is so hard to reproduce in photos 🙂
Beautiful selections, captured well.
BE ENCOURAGED! BE BLESSED!
Fabulous blooms, Gilly. 🙂
Glorious photos, Gilly! I love them all but my favourite is the dahlia! 🙂
Spectacular … I have never seen a Nigella! I am envious of your mobile’s camera quality, Gilly.
Thanks Cheryl, I chose the phone for its camera, just so I always have a way to capture what I see and it has saved me buying a compact camera. If I had a compact I know I would become lazy about using the dslr!
Wonderful flowers! I’m going to buck the trend and pick the second photo as my favorite. I should remember to grow nigella again next spring – it is beautiful, and such an unusual shape.
Thank you I love them too, one year I had a very deep blue one!
Wonderful photos of each flower. Thank you for sharing 🙂
Lovely photographs. I took a picture of some red roses today – I missed perfection by a mile. Your red is beautiful.
I’m sure you didn’t miss, are you posting them?
Yes, somewhere…. I haven’t loaded them on to the computer yet, but I did it in a rush, and I should have known better….. They will probably be on Just Snaps tomorrow.
Gorgeous!!! I like the Lily best of all.
And that is my favourite as well, its a best less obvious but when you look closely its exquisite!
Oh my Gilly…the colour in the first is stunning but I adore the Nigella. I have never seen those. Do you have them in your garden ?? And more to the point are they named after one of mt favourite chefs ????
The chef is named after the flower, but its common name is love in a mist. It is most often blue, from pale to quite intense, but sometimes white and even pink. I have it in the garden and it freely self seeds but never becomes a thug! Did you see Henry???
They are beautiful. I was on my way when you interrupted asking me if I’d seen him. So stop interrupting woman so I can get there. I got excited when I saw my e-mails. I love Henry – he was such a bad arse.
I’ll consider myself told off! 🙂 🙂 🙂
Too bloody right !!!
😉
😆
But your forgiven…cause you gave me pretty flowers and Henry VIII all in one day.
These pictures blow my mind. Love the colour and the shapes. If I knew the names, I’m sure I’d be all over them too. Thanks for sharing, Gilly. Awesome, awesome.
I’ve never seen the toad lily…how cool! Great shots.
These are stunning flowers. 😉
That dahlia looks like a water colour painting it is gorgeous. Needs enlarging and framing…
Wow – the dahlia is stunning
Oh WOW!!! These are spectacular!! Thanks so much for show casing your dahlia. It’s gorgeous!
They are all beautiful but the first one had me under its spell. Stunning images that exudes joy and excitement. Thanks.
Super GREAT photos, Gilly. I love the toad lily. I’ve never seen one in person. It sort of looks like it has an octopus in the center. Cool ….
These are amazing shots! 🙂
oh WOW! those are amazing photos. I can’t even pick which one I like most, each has its own special side
So spectacular!
Absolutely stunning, especially that first one! Now off to see Henry 🙂
OK now I have seen this one, maybe I have. Shall have to search my flower photos when I get back home. It is a beautiful flower and you have some lovely shots.
