Cee’s Fun Foto Challenge: A Single Flower

Well three to be precise. We are asked to show off our photos of a flower thsi week and also given some tips on capturing  them. I’ve included one of Cee’s favourites, a dahlia, but it was taken with my mobile.

I love the shape and texture of Nigella

And a less common but beautiful Toad Lily

    1. Thanks Cheryl, I chose the phone for its camera, just so I always have a way to capture what I see and it has saved me buying a compact camera. If I had a compact I know I would become lazy about using the dslr!

  1. Wonderful flowers! I’m going to buck the trend and pick the second photo as my favorite. I should remember to grow nigella again next spring – it is beautiful, and such an unusual shape.

      1. Yes, somewhere…. I haven’t loaded them on to the computer yet, but I did it in a rush, and I should have known better….. They will probably be on Just Snaps tomorrow.

  2. Oh my Gilly…the colour in the first is stunning but I adore the Nigella. I have never seen those. Do you have them in your garden ?? And more to the point are they named after one of mt favourite chefs ????

    1. The chef is named after the flower, but its common name is love in a mist. It is most often blue, from pale to quite intense, but sometimes white and even pink. I have it in the garden and it freely self seeds but never becomes a thug! Did you see Henry???

  3. They are beautiful. I was on my way when you interrupted asking me if I’d seen him. So stop interrupting woman so I can get there. I got excited when I saw my e-mails. I love Henry – he was such a bad arse.

      1. Too bloody right !!!
        😉
        😆
But your forgiven…cause you gave me pretty flowers and Henry VIII all in one day.

  4. OK now I have seen this one, maybe I have. Shall have to search my flower photos when I get back home. It is a beautiful flower and you have some lovely shots.
