I’ve chosen three photos this week, very different ones but all of the sea.
The first was taken at Cape Coast, in Ghana. I’ve chosen it simply because it was taken on an unspoilt beach, that had just a small hotel with hut rooms looking at the ocean.
The next was taken here in England. I think I might have posted it before but I still love it and hope you will. I call it ‘Mermaids’.
This one isn’t a very good quality image but I’ve chosen it because it reminds me of a time when I did somethingthat was very brave for me. You see, I’m not a very good swimmer, I’m scared to put my head under or to go out of my depth. I think it’s because when I was a child someone pushed me under in a swimming pool. But when I went to Borneo a few years ago I had the chance to snorkel on a coral reef and I knew it was a once in a lifetime time chance. I forced myself to have a go and even though I was tense all the time, it is one of the best things I have ever done.

Ooooooooo, these are all SO GORGEOUS! And how BRAVE you are, dear Gilly!
each photo is wonderful … wildness, mystery and wonder!
My favourite is the shot of the beach in Ghana. Looks so wild and rugged.
Beautiful! I am especially fond of the highlights in the middle photograph !
Love the beach in Ghana. Wild!
All beautiful and very unique, Gilly and you’ve covered the topic literally from every ‘angle’!
Happy weekend! 🙂
All gorgeous pics, Gilly, but your last one really spoke to me. I’m also afraid to put my head under water, but forced myself a couple of times to do some snorkelling. I was also tense the whole time, but glad I did it. Bravo! 🙂
These are all great pix’s, Gilly. I find the first one is unusual that it has the large rocks. The water splashing looks powerful which is how the sea is. Very nice …
great photos, specially the under water one.
great pics gilly
Love that first shot especially Gilly. And good for you for overcoming your fears!!
Hi Gilly, Amazing pics… I too love a quiet beach. I was able to stay in a hut in the Philppines and it was the most realxing holiday to listen to the waves all night.
I have nominated you for an award… come check it out here 🙂

Lovely collection from so far & wide you lucky lady!
Lovely photos, Gilly – and how brave of you to face your fear! Well done 🙂
Great pictures Gilly. The Ghana Coast looks utterly impregnable, though I know well the west African coast and its miles upon miles of deserted wild golden sandy beaches and brilliant white foaming surf. Nice one.
These are all just so amazing Gilly. Great shots hon. 😀 *big hugs*
Amazing pics, really like your blog name too.
you are indeed brave, Gilly! thanks for sharing these moments. am posting my weekly photo challenge post on another post, but it’s really me. aka pix & kardz elsewhere 🙂
I love an unspoiled beach!
hi Gilly,
I like the Ghana coast most – maybe you could snorkel there too?
Cape Coast is just a few hours drive from where I live in Accra dn yet I’ve never been to this beach. Thank you for this photo, Gilly
I loved everywhere I went in Ghana Celestine, the beaches were beautiful and the people so wonderfuly friendly!
So schön das Meer und eine schöne Koralle tolle Bilder.Lieber Gruß und einen schönen Tag von mir Gislinde
Three very different shots… the sea has so many faces. And that Atlantic which looks so mean and horrible around England comes in looking blue and gorgeous on the west African coastline. Love that rugged unspoiled coastline in your second shot. BTW isn’t the underwater world just inspiring 🙂 ?
Ah, the sea… I too, am more comfortable looking at it or strolling along the sand by it, then being in it. Good for you facing your fear Gilly. Beautiful captures. Margie
They do represent a place we hope and dream to be. A place of fun, joy, peace, even a place where something magical like the mermaids can truly happen. Beautiful!
Snorkelling is so much fun! Watching sea life is just food for your soul.
Doing things you normally won’t do is a juggling thng. It’s risky but rewarding. Once I got over one fear, I’m up for almost anything. I just need perfect timing…. and breathing. Ahihihi 😀
Thanks for reading my blog, I love to see yours as well, beebeesworld
Gorgeous shots Gilly! i know the feeling of satisfaction when you overcome your fear. I don’t swim either 🙂
