I wish it was possible to name all the artists and each piece of work at Broomhill, but I’d need a week there. So I’ll let you just enjoy – or otherwise, a few more sculpture shots.

Any favourites or any that you strongly dislike?

I haven’t taken part in Ailsa’s travel them for a long time – simply because of a lack of time, but I couldn’t resist this one.
As you know I recently visited a sculpture garden in north Devon and came home with hundreds of photos. The friend I went with won’t thank me for putting up a photo of her, but it was her favourite sculpture, and I doubt she’ll see it anyway, prove me wrong Woosie!

Bristol museum has a couple of Banksy’s in it’s collection and I remembered this one when I thought about contrasts.
This isn’t how I tend to see an angel, the statue beneath may be, but Banksy has added a little something to make us think as usual.

The trashy paint pan is in complete contrast to the angel. Here is what the Museum has to say about it.

What are your thoughts, are you aware of Banksy’s work?

At the weekend a very old friend invited me to join her on a visit to a vintage fair. When she suggested it I was delighted to be spending the day with her but less impressed with the idea of ‘vintage’, I didn’t think it was my scene.
When we go there it was far bigger than I imagined, probably more than a hundred stalls with something for everyone, even a sceptic like me.
Here are some of the things we saw.
A vintage fashion show!
Vintage and retro transport.
And nostalgic pretties.
All in all it was a great day with loads to see, things I’d forgotten existed from my childhood and goodness, a lot of people love this stuff. They regularly dress up to step back in time. Perhaps some of you indulge in vintage, please share if you do?
My best bit? finding some maps from 1960 and only one pound each!
Julia was a bit stuck or a prompt this week so she decided it would be, but what is the prompt? Here is my entry.
Cleopatra
Philippa watched her rival adjust the jet black wig she wore for the role. Her role, the one she’d always dreamed of playing. Sybil gave her a snooty, sideways look, before the curtain parted. She took her place at the prow of the mock galleon in the centre of the stage and gathered her thoughts as a hush fell . . .
. . . and gathered her thoughts,
. . . but not her lines.
Philippa sucked in her cheeks as she watched Sybil’s discomfort grow.
‘But what is the prompt Philippa?’ whispered the stage director.
‘I wouldn’t need a prompt,’ she laughed as she walked away.
Yesterday I said I would post some more photos of the wonderful sculpture at Broomhill Art Hotel, but easier said than done. I took so many photos, there was such a wide range of work and many, many pieces that I liked, that I hardly know where to begin.
So, these are some of the first I saw, whilst having coffee and a freshly baked cookie on the hotel terrace. I’m fairly sure these are from two artists, Laury Dezengremel and Carol Peace.
I hope you like them as much as I do, if so do you have a favourite?
For Bastet’s Pixelventures, except that I’mnot sure I’ve got it right!

Yesterday I had another Birthmonth day out, to a sculpture garden in North Devon. More about to follow about that, but for now I wanted to show you these few sculptures we found gathered in a small area. The first was a real double take,

But it fitted well with the rest,
Very dark don’t you think? especially the suicide bomber, a shocking interpretation of life and death.
