I don’t know why I ‘ve never shown you Budleigh Salterton before. It’s a small town next along the coast to the east of Exmouth. A very sedate little place, expensive to live in, unspoilt and beautiful. It has the best ice cream shop – The Creamery, there is usually a big queue, and several restaurants and cafes. Notable is the Cozy Teapot, a heavenly little place with old fashioned bone china cups and delicious scones. Here are a few shots from the beach.
Beautiful place Gilly. The red rock reminds me of Sedona in Arizona.
BE ENCOURAGED! BE BLESSED!
I always enjoy these country hamlet profiles-in-pictures you do, Gilly. These coastal ones are some of my favorites.
Love your summation, too: sedate little place, expensive to live in. 😀 h Hopefully, not too much to visit, though?
Hi,
What a lovely place, and I love the rock formations as well.
Very picturesque. I can just imagine people throwing off all their gear after counting 500 steps along the beach from the blue sign. 🙂
Lovely shots! I want to be there…..funny, St. Paul MN also has an ice cream place called The Creamery. We were down the street from it having dinner for my birthday one year and I wanted to get ice cream there afterwards. You guessed it, the line was too long! so, i still have not gone there. maybe this year 😉
Really terrific pictures, especially like the plastic reflection on the pebbles, actually all the treasures on the beach!
it looks expensive, so neat and pretty … fabulous photos of the pebbles and cliffs …very scenic thanks gilly 🙂
Love the pictures, Gilly. Hmm…. “Clothing optional 500m west…”of the sign? How warm does it get there? I don’t think I can sunbathe on the coast of San Francisco. It’s too chilly. I’d have Togo further south. Way south. Like Newport Beach south.
Devon Red Sandstone!
A fun way to welcome the New Year. Exciting pictures! Happy New Year my friend.
Great post; wonderful gallery!
ah but you forgot to mention that it also has the BEST fish and chip restaurant anywhere in the world!!!!!!!!

ah – happy memories x
Ah I’m so pleased you know and love Budleigh, very few bloggers have been down to my neck of the woods!
it has long been an absolute favourite of mine! spent many a happy hour walking along the front – say hello to it for me next time you are there!
What a beautiful place Gilly! Love the one with bits of broken chine on the pebbles.
The red sandstone is amazing.
What a lovely place!!! If I ever get back to England, I’ll make sure to visit…
Where did you visit here?
In 1983, I visited — apart from London — little places like Bury St Edmunds …a place in Kent ..possibly Ashford..
In London, I stayed with people living in Harrow [on theHill]… 🙂
Long time ago…
