Yesterday at Branscombe

The weather forecast got it right, yesterday was a blue sky day that shouted come and see me. So off we went, heading east to Branscombe, a little village on the coast between Sidmouth and Beer. A few years ago Branscombe hit the headlines because a huge container ship, the MS Napoli ran aground there spilling its cargo along several miles of coast line.

All is pristine now and once the long single track lane to reach Branscombe has been successfully navigated, it’s the perfect spot for some winter sun.

Sunday was a day that kept on giving, more tomorrow!

  1. Have spent many happy hours on this beach. Is it still as quiet? We used to walk along a little path from the village down to the cove. Would love to go back. Thanks for the reminder, Gilly

    1. Really? then I’m so pleased I posted it! yes it’s fairly quiet because its limited by the parking spaces and the road down. The path is still there below the road and it’s an easier walk than the road. I hope you get to return soon. I’ll go back sometime when the National Trust mill is open 🙂

  2. What a wonderful way to spend a sunny winter Sunday. It’s amazing how good it feels to see the sun out and shining when we’ve had so many grey days. It looks like a really pretty place Gilly.
