Filling up on summer

I’ve spent many hours this weekend picking, preparing and turning fruit – strawberries and blackcurrants, into jam and jelly. I must say that I’m close to having enough of strawberries, something I never thought I would say. But yesterday, even though it rained while I tried to gather the last few ripe berries, it was a delight to wander around the allotment site admiring everyone’s hard work. Unfortunately not all the plots are well tended, some are totally overgrown and I wonder why when there is such along waiting list to acquire one.
Anyway here are a few phone pics I took while I was wandering around.

It isn’t just veggies!Weekend over, now I’m taking my ant bitten self to work.

A Bench for July

Jude’s bench challenge this month is ‘unusual detail’. I’ve had each month’s topic in mind when I’ve been out and about this year and I found this one in early April. It was up a little alley in Glastonbury, opposite a shop, and to be honest I wouldn’t choose to sit there when there are so many cafes and places to people watch in that colourful town.

That’s another post I must get round to – some pics of the streets in Glastonbury, its a hippy dippy place even when it isn’t festival time.
If you have a bench with unusual detail, maybe you would like to join Jude’s challenge?

Weekly Photo Challenge : Door

Cheri at the Daily Post says,

A door is an everyday thing, yet is often a symbol — of a beginning, a journey forward or inward, a mark of one’s home, or even a step into the unknown.

I love photographing doors and I fell for this decaying beauty at St Ives last weekend, I must have known I’d need it!

Sagrada Familia from the bus

The best bit of my trip to Barcelona in April was Sagrada Familia, so I thought I’d show you why. This is Gaudi’s last and greatest masterpiece, and it’s hoped that it will finally be finished in 2026 to mark the centenary of his death.

I’m not going to ramble on, nothing I could say isn’t said better on the Sagrada Familia website, but love it or hate it, this building is incredible. These photos were all taken with a compact camera from the Bus Turistic, how I wish I’d been able to take my dslr!
