Ailsa said ‘No matter where you go, there’s always something for sale somewhere. The items on display in local stores are often evocative of the flavours and aesthetics of the culture you’re in and make for really interesting photographs.’ The things I have photographed are not for sale but displayed in the Museum of Anatolian Civilisation in Ankara, I’m sure that still counts.
Would you like to join in? call in at Ailsa’s Place she would love to see you.
I love your tweaks of these “assigned topics”! And the pictures are great too. 😉 The people who made those pieces had such an eye for animals, whether the works are realistic like the horse’s head or humorous like that little rabbit. Thanks for sharing them!
Nice post for the Theme “On Display” She did not say the items had to be for sale, just on display and I believe yours qualify. That is my vote (LOL) I love these carvings, they each tell a story. Great job Gilly!! 😉
These are great Gilly. I miss museums.
nice … really interesting work! i really like the piece at top right.
Of course they still count, Gilly – and they’re wonderful! 🙂
Lovely collection of pieces … Did you change your template? Looks different. 😉
I love your “items for sale,” Gilly. I’ll take the horse’s head. 🙂
Are these on display in the museum that has a front yard garden with some really old stone pieces? If so, we’ve been there too!
Yes! it was wonderful, it even had a clay tablet that served as divorce papers a couple of millenia ago. The garden pieces were great too.
Wonderfully interesting items ….. a good entry.
Wonderful display. Gilly. It is sad to note that in my country, the few musuems that we have are empty and dying.
I went to a great little museum in Accra!
I love browsing and appreciating. I no longer buy things. Nice arrangement.
