Lazy Poet’s Thursday . . .

All winter I longed for signs of spring
now the April of dreams is passing with haste,
leaving this world like my sister who’s late.
it would be easy to dread this month of loss
instead I’ll make memories with those I love.
I’ll eat birthday cake in a garden of sunshine
laugh, eat chocolate, drink fizz with friends.
and lie in the bluebells watching the heavens
through a canopy of oak in an iron age fort.
I’ll breathe the fragrance of blossom,
then I’ll honour and give thanks
for each flower that’s spent.

Black and White Sunday, after,before
Once a month, Paula’s theme is to show a photo in black and white and colour, but she lets us choose our own subject matter. The dandelions are already spreading their fairy wings, to the delight of some but to the horror of gardeners. I’m somewhere in the middle!
Here’s after editing,
and before,
Any preference?
Observing spring
Hello my friends, I haven’t been around much lately and I’ve missed you, but I wouldn’t have been very good company. I’m emerging though and have been watching spring doing the same, in my little part of the world.
Thank you all for your sweet messages in the last couple of weeks, even though I haven’t responded, it has meant a lot to me. The friends I’ve made here are so kind and supportive, you’ve touched my heart.

Thursday Special, Illusion
St Pancras church in the hear of Exeter sits right in the centre of a shopping centre. It’s built from Heavitree stone and is mostly 13th centuryn but with an 11th century font. It’s tiny, 46 x 16 feet, and is one of the oldest churches in the country with a chancel and nave.
As well as shops, it’s now surrounded by restaurants. I caught this i phone photo though the window of Comptoir Libanais. I’m not sure if the lady in the roof is real or just an illusion, maybe Paula will know, I’ve posted it for her Thursday special.

If I had a hut like this . . .
Close to home 1
As I was walking home today, I thought about the area where I live. I’ve lived within three miles all of my life, and I know lots of the little nooks and crannies. So I thought I’d start posting phone camera shots from time to time as a record for myself and to show you the real Exeter.

Here’s number one, sometimes there may be long gaps, other times I might post them thick and fast, as it takes my fancy.
Six Word Saturday
Leatherwork today, got very sore fingers!
